Zoll AEDs / Defibrillators
Zoll was incorporated in 1980 by the company's three co-founders, Dr. Paul M. Zoll, Willard M. Bright, and Rolf Stutz, largely as a result of Dr. Zoll's years of research in external defibrillation. In 1956 Dr. Zoll was the first physician to successfully use external defibrillation to regulate heart rhythms in patients.
Zoll Medical Corporation became a publicy traded company in 1992 (NASDAQ: ZOLL), and designed their first AED, the Zoll AED Plus in 2001. The AED Plus, in conjunction with Zoll's new CPR-D•padz®, resulted in the industry's first AED to provide instanenous CPR feedback - coaching the user in correct depth and rate of CPR compressions. The Zoll AED Pro was introduced to the Zoll lineup in 2005 and was specifically designed for rugged use by professional rescuers. With more than 25 years of experience in defibrillation, ZOLL is a pioneer in resuscitation solutions. ZOLL provides a comprehensive set of technologies that can help clinicians, EMS professionals, and infrequent rescuers resuscitate sudden cardiac arrest and trauma victims.
